My name is Shoma and my passion is to create experiences that bring other people fulfillment. I’m excited to introduce self-care classes and retreats for women to help them on their journey to practicing a more balanced, peaceful and purposeful life.  I was first introduced to the idea of self-care when my kids were 2 and 5. I was struggling as a working mom with one child in diapers and the other starting elementary school. Between work and parenting, I juggled the to do's of every day life: groceries, dishes, laundry... I was in full reactive mode and knew I needed to make a change but barely had a moment to consider how. Then I stumbled upon the PRG program. I found a sense of relief from the support, ideas and guidance from my instructor and classmates. The break once a month to attend the PRG program was revitalizing, and I discovered how to find time for myself to do what lifts my spirit: yoga, journaling, kayaking and spending time exploring and playing with my kids.

My children are now 8 and 11, and while life has gotten easier from a parenting perspective, it’s still busy in different ways and my need for self-care hasn’t changed. I have yet to have a day where my patience isn’t being tried, but thanks to my self-care practice, I’m able to relieve stress in healthier ways than when I first had kids (minus the chocolate!).

A little about my background… I recently left corporate America after nearly 20 years of working in the technology and medical device industries. My corporate experience includes sales, marketing and project management while my entrepreneurial experience includes event start-ups like the Twin Cities’ first and only chocolate show and now Solera Self-Care. I have a Bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Master of Business Administration from the University of Washington. I’m a certified life coach and an RTA-Certified Facilitator for the PRG program.
